ALEX A. TAPIA, AIF ®PRESIDENT & RETIREMENT WEALTH PLANNER
Alex is a former professional airline pilot, with experience in almost every facet of aviation at both the general aviation level and scheduled part 121 commuter and legacy carriers. Alex is also a licensed Wealth Planner with financial planning experience dating back almost two decades.
His family history has strong roots in the financial industry and, in addition, Alex has always had an enormous respect for aviation and the professionals serving this industry. After having flown professionally for more than 18 years and experienced the hardships and obstacles that many pilots face throughout their careers and into retirement, he resigned from US Airways in 2002 to create Aviation Retirement Strategies, LLC.
Alex is a graduate from the University of Houston and San Jacinto College, where he earned all of his pilot licenses and rating. He holds degrees in Occupational Technology and Aeronautical Science respectively. As a Retirement Wealth Planner, he attended Rice University, where he earned the title of “Accredited Investment Fiduciary” along with the AIF® designation. He holds a Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination), and a General Lines Insurance License.
Alex lives in Spring, Texas with his wife Dana, his daughter Alexa, and his identical twin boys Adrian, and Jaden.

As Branch Manager, W. Carr Burgoyne, Jr. brings a blend of common sense, keen knowledge and personal caring to the financial support and advice he provides to our clients. A native Houstonian, Carr is third generation in the financial service industry and has strong Texas values, ethics and respect for a hard day’s work. The Burgoyne Family tradition of independent advice dates back to his grandfather, Wallace Martin Burgoyne, who started his career in 1927 with a firm (Spencer Trask) well known for giving independent advice on preferred stocks.
A Graduate of Stephen F. Austin University, Carr gained a BBA in Finance, is a Certified Financial PlannerTM Practitioner, Certified Fund Specialist and Accredited Investment Fiduciary. Carr holds a Series 7, 66, 24 and 20 and has over 18 years in the financial service industry. As a Retirement Wealth Planner, Carr considers foremost the unique needs of our clients, along with the financial objectives they have for themselves and their families, to create financial plans which are streamlined for all generations.
Carr and his wife Wendy are active members of their community and live in Spring, Texas with their two sons, Carr III and Colson.
Andrew N. OakExecutive Vice President/Operations
As a member of the management team, Andrew’s vision shapes our organizational strategies and implementation into practice. Also holding a Series 7 and Series 66 licenses, he plays a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence and client services.
Andrew’s first experience in the financial industry began as a result of his seeking out an internship with Salomon Smith Barney while still a junior in high school, leading to being offered a full time position prior to his senior year. After graduation from Elon University in 2004 with a BS in Business Administration and concentrations in Management Information Systems and Entrepreneurship, Andrew spent 9 years involved in every aspect of successful redevelopment projects totaling over a half million square feet valued at over $39 million with a leading development and re-use firm headquartered in Lancaster, PA. Andrew ascended the ranks to serve as Vice President – Development & Construction, and was nominated as one of Central Pennsylvania’s Top 40 under 40 (at the age of 30). With this background, Andrew knows a quality and sustainable financial plan begins with a strong foundation. Andrew seeks every opportunity to enhance the high quality of service to our clients. His constant attention to detail and care has been a notable trait throughout his career.
Andrew lives in Spring, Texas with his wife Lisa and their children, Neely and Jackson.

David Moeller, CIMA®Director of Investment Planning
David provides asset management solutions and investment strategies to the firms, clients and advisors. David graduated from the Texas State University McCoy School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. David holds a Series 7, 66 and General Lines licenses and was a financial advisor starting in 2004 and has held asset management roles with retail financial advisors since 2006. He has worked with LPL Financial affiliated advisors since 2009.David holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst(CIMA) designation earned at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association and the Financial Management Association. David won the 2010 Speaker of the Year award from the Financial Management Association. David also was a guest speaker to the 2011 LPL Financial Focus Conference.
Amber WalkerOperations & Compliance Manager
Amber Walker is the Branch Operations Manager and works closely with the staff to ensure that all transactions are accurate, timely and in the client’s best interests. Amber graduated from The University of Mount Olive in North Carolina and has over 15 years of experience in Operations & Project Management. Before making the jump to the finance industry, Amber held positions in the local government and non-profit sector. Amber is proud to have grown up in Houston. She and her husband, Russ, now live in Tomball with their two children, Spencer and Isaac.
Michelle BoedingUAL Pilot Consultant
Thanks to an introductory flight in a Cherokee 140 back in 1989 Michelle fell in love with aviation and has been flying ever since.
Michelle is currently a flying for United Airlines and has type ratings on the BE-1900, CL-65, B-737, B-757, B-767, B-777 and the B-787. For the past 2 years Michelle has been instructing on the B-787.
When Michelle is not flying or helping pilots during their transition to retirement you can find here building forts or playing at the park with her two young boys. Her favorite charities are Water Aid, Blink Now and Self Help International.
